Re-organizing my makeup storage

Over the last couple of weeks I've barley had time to tidy my room, let alone re-organize things. I'm really fond of keeping my make-up space a real treasure. I'm lucky that over the last couple of years, and houses I've lived in (at uni etc) that I've always had some form of space to display things. Whilst with my nan currently I'm using the dressing table area in my room, my grandad actually built this along with the rails either side - whos up for a room tour? - and its so so perfect for all my acrylic storage. I need to film a video of all this for you guys asap, but for now I thought I'd share what I spent last night doing!

Mac Collab : Ellie Gouldings' offering

Whenever I find out any future mac activity and post about it, they always become some of my most viewed posts.I've just discovered the news that Ellie Goulding is the next to join the long list of celebrities collabing' with mac. The partnership was announced on the 4th of June via Ellie's instagram. Whilst the likes of Miley Cyrus had raunchy, raw campaigns Ellie's offering is alot more retro glam and the product preview shows some really gorgeous and wearable products - however were going to have to wait till December for this one guys! - BUT HEY, its never to early to start writing a christmas list is it!? The collection images released so far features a super wearable pink lipstick, a glittery gloss, a rose lip crayon, a neutral eye quad, false lashes and a bronzer/blush duo which are noticeably available in most collections ... I'll be making a bee line for the quad that's for sure!

Monthly Favourites : May

Who are these bloggers who manage to find all there monthly favourites and wishlists in the same beautiful colour palettes? because I'm not one of them, haha. 
001) Aussie Shower Smoothie - BEEJUS, My god. If you haven't got youre nose around a bottle of this as of yet you are missing out. As if shower time wasn't great enough having locks full of Aussie smelling goodness, the brand has released shower gels, I'm rubbish with scent description but this stuff is fresh and strong. Just what I need on a 4am wake up call! Gel consistency and lots of lather make this a real treat! 002) Thierry Mugler Angel limited edition - Thierry Mugler has stole my heart with the new limited edition Angel perfume. I grabbed this in House Of Fraser during there bank holiday 20% off offer. I have alot of friends who wear Muglers' scents and whilst all lovely, none really caught my eyes nose untill this one. Packagaed in candy stripes and a bottle doused with frosted glints - aesthically all my boxes were ticked. For me a perfume has to last on the skin - and this scent certaintly does that. Smell wise I feel a really nice mix of fruity and floral. It boasts top notes of tangy red berry sorbet, heart notes of caramelized meringue and base notes of woody patchouli and soft vanilla. 003) Boujois 'so glossy' in '05 taupe modele' - I was actually scouting out the Nails Inc 'Porchester Square' nail varnish when I found this as an alternative cheaper offering. Whilst darker than the Nails Inc offering, this serves well as a grey shade. However it does require a few coats to built, but you won't be disappointed with the glossy texture. 004) Wilkinsons' Powder brush - Yes, you're eyes do not deceive you - this is a Wilkinsons own brand makeup brush and not a Real Techniques ! I've been meaning to grab a new all over powder brush for quite a while now seeing as my e.l.f powder brush is now handle-less eek! For just £4 this brush is INCREDIBLE. Soft to apply with and a big dome applicator its perfect for light applications to avoid that caked on look. They also offer kabuki brushes, eyeshadow brushes and many more! 005) Mac 'Velvet Teddy' - I too fell for the Kardashian famous lip colour. Velvet teddy just does it for me. Its the perfect darker than nude for my skin tone and I've worn this day in day out. I'll be stocking up on a new one very soon as this is on its way out already - a great edition to you're collection or a perfect first mac purchase! 006) Mac x Cinderella eyeshadow palette - Whilst the majority of the Cinderella collection left me feeling disappointed and deflated this palette has been my go too lately. I'm a sucker for a neutral palette and this has replaced my naked palette 9 times out of 10. I especially love the darker shades for the eyelid crease. Mac x Cinderella collection : 'Royal ball' lipstick

I don't think there has been a Mac limited edition collection I haven't got my hands on, with a few small exceptions! The Cinderella collab was arguably one of the most coveted mac Disney collabs
by far. Weather it was adoring disney fans, mac addicts or lusting ladies obsessed with pretty packaging - everyone seemed to want a piece of this collection. I still have the eyeshadow palette to arrive but I knew I wanted atleast one of the lipsticks for sure and I opted for royal ball. This has been the first time I hadn't really read the colour description and searched through reviews about a limited collection, because if i'm honest I was just too damn excited to get my hands on a piece of the magic. In hindsight - I wish I had. 'Royal ball' is described as a 'fleshy pink' which I was drawn too, as I'm trying to expand my nudes and everyday colours part of my lipstick collection. However what I should have read was the 'shimmering textures' part of the descriptor. I have never ever, liked a shimmering finish on any lipstick, I've always been a matte finish kind of girl.  The 'Royal ball' shade on first swatch is fairly clear with just a hint of pink sheen, however it is build able. Yes this colour is pretty, however, my main problem with this shade is that its FAR too light for my lips, as in my lips basically disappear into my face. Its the sort of 'my first lipstick from the pound section' colour on my skin and the only way I seem to be able to make this work is with a little lipliner and even then I'm pushing it. Moral of the story? always check reviews before you buy!

Mac x cinderella : collab revealed

I am a loyal follower of Mac, and every time a limited edition collection arrives I usually scout it out, Disney are releasing a new Cinderella film set to come out in March this year and it seems mac have jumped on the band waggon in their usual style. The most common image circulating I've found is the top packaging with the black and gold style packaging which alot of people agreed - left alot to imagination when you here the words Cinderella cosmetics collection. However, searching a little deeper into the interweb I've came across these much nicer blue packaged pieces and I'm even more excited than previously thought possible. As always I'm sure this collection will sell out instantly, Mac haven't released a launch date however again the circulation date I've found for the UK is just currently early march. I've also found a line list - but again I'm not sure how legit this is. Hopefully judging from pictures this collection looks really wearable, and I'll be sure to review when not if I get my hands on some pieces! A couple of weeks ago I was grabbed by a couple of girls from the London College of Fashion who were taking street style photographs and they were kind enough to send me a copy of them, lucky me for not needing to shoot this outfit myself. I have only just discovered the Choies website and I have another item I need to blog about ASAP - but I'll save that as a surprise ;) although waiting for the postage was long I could not be happier with the items I recieved. This oversized dog tooth print really screamed out at me, its so bold and looks great toned down with plainer garments such as the shirt I'm wearing here. As promised, I don't think these full a-line skirts will be leaving my body anytime soon .. along with my hat obsession for that matter!

Rihanna for MAC : 'Love rihanna' bronzer

If theres one thing I love, its mac cosmetics. I used to have a serious penchant for Rihanna back in the day also, and this combined with a limited editon collection, well lets just say I was sold from the get go. HOWEVER. I never actually thought I'd own this! I missed it on shops and online because of being so bloomin' busy and I actually forgot all about it. When my 21st birthday presents arrived from the Welsh Hughies and this was inside needless to say I nearly died. Ever since I picked up the Nars Laguna bronzer, I've noticed how much better a darker and more brown bronzer works for me. Being a sibling of casper the friendly ghost means alot of bronzers look horrifically orange on me. This little beauty really shocked me actually. At first I was'nt a fan on the literal golden bronze metalic power in the pan, however on application its actually really subtle. This bronzer is so differently toned to any other I own, it literal is bronze if that makes sense, not orange, not brown but bronze. I've been using this literally every day for contouring my cheek bones since I brought it, and I'm starting to get through the sheen of metalically bronze on top and its still applying like a dream. Its a shame this is limited edition beause I really do enjoy this product!

MAC : EYEBROW CRAYON IN 'STUD'

I knew it would be bad news when John Lewis Southampton FINALLY got it's MAC counter, and low and behold, 3 years into uni, we have been graced with its presence. Having already brought two lipsticks from there, myself and Dan wandered in there last week as the boy wanted to treat me - brownie points to him - and whilst getting matched up to a bronzer I decided to take the plunge and ask about all things eyebrows at mac. 

Now, at the point I should add that up untill that day, I am the only person who has EVER touched my eyebrows and needless to say I was very nervous about the whole ordeal, I think Dan may have been too as he knew the bitch fit that would occur if Amy (the makeup artist) wrecked my brows.

However, I was pleasently suprised, Amy filled the beginnings of my brows with 'concrete' eyeshadow and used this to line the brow from the bottom all the way from the inner to outer parts (difficult to explain) what I liked best about this product is that it does'nt cake and matt your eyebrow hair as I find my rimmel pencil can sometimes, its a twist top and you just twist as much product as you need, its a really light and easy application and does'nt leave you with marker brows.

I really do need to do an eyebrow video pronto.

Overall I'd recommend this, if your an obsessive over your brows like me - however you can get similar (but not as good) results from the good old rimmel offering!

Mac Lipsticks : 'RiRi Woo'

MAC 'RiRi Woo' - £14 (Sold Out)

I don't know why its taken me so long to feature this beautiful lipstick on my blog. Its probably the product I've been most excited about this year, I actually woke up early and sat and refreshed MAC just to get it (Sad I know) The product itself is a retro matte, meaning there's no creamy sheen here, just an opaque, matte intense red. Its blue toned which guarantees to make your teeth look just that bit whiter, as far as the comparisons to ruby woo go, I can't comment as I don't own it, however if you read a review anywhere its pretty clear they are very similar. Applying it I found i needed a fair amount of lip liner to stop it bleeding, and its actually fairly hard to apply, the waxy formula does stick to dry patches, and as far as eating and drinking goes? this product flaked when I attempted either. Having said that, its an incredibly beautiful colour, one that I think I'll reserve for nights out and special occasions. I'm glad I brought it but I can't decide how I feel about a fully matte product!

MAC Archie's Girls 'Daddy's little girl' lipstick

I brought two lipsticks from the Archie's girls collection one from the Veronica collection and one from the Betty collection which you can view here. I actually photographed this ages ago and totally forgot to post it! 'Daddy's little girl' is a satin forumla lipstick meany a creamy finish with a slight sheen. Mac describes it as a 'mid-tone pink violet' it has real strong blue undertones which isn't usually something I tend to go for, however its a really nice purpley colour and I usually wear it as a statement lip. Its super opaque a couple of swipes and you have full coverage and it doesn't sink in any cracks on your lips. Amazing quality from MAC as always!

MAC Prep & Prime BB Beauty Balm 'light' review

Prep & Prime BB Beauty Balm SPF 35 - £22

OH MAC. You have done it again, you have turned me on another product. 
WHERE do I start with this product. My cousin Jemma sent me this in a post a couple of days ago randomly and I was over the moon at her kindness. However I was skeptical as I have never tried a BB cream, and I prefer high coverage foundations and none of that dewey skin finish business.
PACKAGAING
Super slick black - mac's staple look of course, with flecks of glitter!!, a sturdy plastic tube and a tell tale matte finish top - this baby is travel proof!
PRODUCT
Prepare to be blown away. Mac's BB cream teams up as a primer also, so its suitable to worn under your foundation to prime and for that extra bit of coverage - or obviously solo. For reference I'm an NC15 in studio fix foundation if your wondering about shades - this is light. I squeezed a pea amount on to my hand before applying it all over my face with my fingers, I was convinced this product was going to be runny and worthless, something I didn't need, wow, how wrong I was. Consistency wise this kind of feels like a gel and another bonus? no strong paint like smell, it glides on light and drys fairly quickly  it gives the nicest matte finish all over, and genuinely gave me a fair bit of coverage?! - I'd never be putting a picture up make-up less if it did'nt! If I was going on holiday this would be a must have in my bag, you can hardly feel this on your face - and as for using it under a foundation, your gaining extra coverage and I found I needed to use less foundation. 
OVERVIEW
At £22 this is at the pricey end of the primer scale, but I can honestly say I've felt a difference in my daily routine and I'd really recommend this for the following

2) You are a young girl starting out with makeup and want a light coverage

3) Your looking for a light coverage for a holiday

MAC Archie's Girls 'Betty Bright' lipstick

MAC Archie's Girls in 'Betty Bright' £15.50 HERE

I've had my Archie's Girls picks for a couple of weeks now, and I wanted to get a good wear out of them before I reviewed them. This is one of the two lipsticks I brought, 'Betty Bright' is a satin finish lipstick, which means its a semi matte - not alot of shine and voluminous colour, however be sure to pack some lip balm underneath if the weather has chapped your lips as this beauty will cling to every dry patch you have. MAC describes it as a 'Light vibrant peach' which I'd say is pretty spot on, in my eyes in turns of comparison I'd say your looking at a day time wear viva la glam 'Nicki' , Perfect for spring and looks great with a warm blusher on the cheeks, I'm happy with this purchase and if your looking to delve into the Archie's collection and want a safe bet I'd say pick this one!

MAC Year of the snake: beauty powder in 'shell pearl'

MAC Year of the snake 'Shell pearl' - £22

Beauty powder is not something I had previously brought from MAC before, it claims to be a a multi purpose powder which you can use as a high light, soft blush or overall finish. The limited edition year of the snake beauty powder is a pale peach with a gold pearl. I applied this above my cheek bones across my nose and under my brows as a highlighter and then set about just generally dusting areas where the light hits, it doesn't photograph well, and you probably can't see it in the photo above, you can see the product in person but it has a very VERY subtle colour give off. Its pretty, but a bit of a un needed product in my opinion.
